What Is Qoya?
Qoya is movement practice designed to help women tap into the inherent wisdom of our bodies. In Qoya, we focus less on how it looks and more on how it feels.
There’s no beginner, intermediate or advanced levels because there’s just one level and that is when it feels good you’re doing it right.
HOW DO YOU TRUST YOURSELF?
Movement is the quickest, most effective way to tap into your body's wisdom.
Your body is the most technically complex organism on earth. It stores and processes information in ways that your mind can’t, and is the most powerful resource you possess.
When you move, you access that information. You experience the physical sensation of truth - what’s true for you - and gain the confidence and clarity to follow it.
Qoya is based on the idea that through movement, we remember. We remember that as women our essence is Wise, Wild and Free. Wise evokes the wisdom of yoga, Wild the creative expression in dance and Free invites us to explore pleasure through sensual movement.
IMAGINE LIVING A LIFE IN WHICH YOU TRUST YOURSELF.
Consider this your permission slip.
Welcome to Qoya Sydney! My name is Jill Lacina and I am excited to be bringing regular Qoya classes, workshops, retreats and special events to this little corner of our world.
My journey with Qoya started in 2013 when my sister and I found ourselves at a Qoya retreat at Blue Spirit in Costa Rica. I had never heard of Qoya before and I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
Within 15 minutes of our first session, I was hooked. I had spent a lot of my life travelling around in my body, flogging it through exercise or flogging it through lack of exercise, lack of sleep, poor food, etc.
I had no idea that my body was an instrument to find my voice, my worth and my truth. For me, Qoya is the way IN... so that my truth can be felt - in my cells. And with that, comes a deep trust of my own inner wisdom. By moving my body to music in a Qoya class, I’m able to unravel the puzzles of my life and give myself permission to experience my life as authentically as possible. It’s also been a key part of my life getting a whole lot more beautiful.
